Our mission

Finance movement. Build ownership.

Yote Pesa exists to prefinance clean, affordable, income-generating electric motorcycles for Tanzanian drivers who cannot raise the full purchase price upfront.

About Yote Pesa

Focused by design.

Yote Pesa is a Tanzania-wide asset-finance business, currently operating in Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza. The model is deliberately narrow: electric motorcycles only, prefinanced and placed with vetted working drivers through lease-to-own agreements.

That focus helps standardise maintenance, spare parts, driver onboarding and the path to ownership. It also keeps the promise simple: lower running costs, structured payments and a productive asset at the end.

“A motorcycle should do more than help a driver earn today. It should become an asset they own tomorrow.”

First-fleet goals

Impact you can count.

The initial programme is planned around a first target of 10,000 motorcycles deployed in three disciplined phases across Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza.

100formalised, insured, income-generating livelihoods targeted
TZS 4.8-7.2Bindicative annual fuel savings kept by 10,000 driver households
~5,600 tCO₂eindicative avoided emissions per year across a 10,000-bike fleet

Impact figures are planning estimates based on comparable public research and will be measured against actual fleet performance.

Why the model matters

Better for riders.
Better for the city.

1

Financial inclusion

A transparent lease-to-own agreement gives working drivers a documented path to an asset they might not otherwise afford.

2

Cleaner mobility

Electric motorcycles remove tailpipe emissions from daily journeys and reduce dependence on imported petrol.

3

Safer formalisation

Registration, insurance, KYC, GPS tracking and planned maintenance bring structure to a historically informal segment.

Responsible growth

Prove. Learn. Scale.

The first 10,000 motorcycles are planned in three phases across Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza, so each phase can demonstrate demand, collection discipline and supplier reliability before the next phase begins.

  • Phase 1: onboard the first 25 drivers and validate operations.
  • Phases 2-4: expand in controlled groups as performance is proven.
  • Next: develop digital KYC, payment visibility and fleet-support tools.
