Identity and licence checks
We verify your national ID, valid driving licence, passport photo and next-of-kin or guarantor contact.

Repayment-capacity review
We discuss your regular earnings and may review mobile-money or ride-hailing earnings history, where available and shared with your consent.

Agreement and down payment
If approved, you receive the lease-to-own terms in writing. You make the agreed down payment only after reviewing and signing.

Registration, insurance and handover
Your motorcycle is registered, insured and fitted with GPS tracking before you collect it and begin working.

Pay and take ownership
Make daily or weekly mobile-money instalments. Once the full lease-to-own amount is paid, ownership documents transfer to you.

Applying and eligibility
Is Yote Pesa selling motorcycles?
Yote Pesa uses a lease-to-own model. The motorcycle remains a Yote Pesa asset during the agreement and transfers to the driver after full repayment.
Is approval guaranteed?
No. Every driver is screened for identity, licence status, experience and realistic repayment capacity before an offer is made.
What if I have a difficult week?
Contact Yote Pesa early. Any support or restructuring is subject to the agreement, but early communication is always better than missing payments without notice.
Motorcycle, payments and battery
What is the expected daily payment?
The current affordability target is around TZS 10,000 per day. The final amount depends on confirmed supplier pricing, your down payment, approval and the signed agreement.
Can I pay weekly instead of daily?
Daily or weekly collection may be available depending on your approved plan. The schedule will be written clearly in your agreement.
How long does the battery last, and what does charging cost?
Battery life depends on usage and care; published ranges are 60-75 km (City Star) and up to 120 km (Road Power) per charge. Indicative charging cost is roughly TZS 4,000-6,000 per full charge based on current Tanzania electricity tariffs - well below typical daily petrol spend.
Where is the motorcycle serviced?
Scheduled servicing and battery-health checks are arranged through Yote Pesa's technical support channel. Exact service points will be confirmed as the fleet is deployed.
What happens if the motorcycle is damaged or stolen?
Every motorcycle is insured before handover and fitted with GPS tracking. Report any damage, accident or theft to Yote Pesa immediately - your agreement will set out the exact process and any excess or replacement terms.
Can I sell or transfer the motorcycle before I finish paying?
No. The motorcycle remains a Yote Pesa asset until the lease-to-own amount is fully repaid. Selling, modifying ownership markings or transferring it to someone else during the agreement is not permitted.
What documents do I get once I finish paying?
Once your full lease-to-own amount is settled, Yote Pesa transfers the ownership and registration documents to your name, completing your path to ownership.
Why is GPS tracking required?
Tracking protects the financed asset, supports maintenance monitoring and helps keep the programme secure until ownership transfers.
